Two Individuals Formally Indicted with Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 now face murder accusations and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.
Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the attempted rape of a baby.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
