The England manager Questions Home Crowd Support Despite Emphatic Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel shared his disappointment that the England team did not get more support from the home spectators during their decisive triumph over Wales on Thursday night.

The manager was pleased to see his squad continue their strong performance, with finishes from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages effectively ending the game. However, he was not content with the mood at the national stadium.

“With limited sessions to get ready against a organized team and we excelled,” the coach commented. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We missed the additional ones. There was little noise. We didn’t get any energy from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you give in the first quarter? We didn’t let them get away. If you hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s regrettable because the team earned more support today.”

“I support my words. There’s nothing more than leading 3-0 in a derby. I would have wished for a greater backing in moments where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was excessive support for Wales. It could have helped us to refocus, but it is what it is and that is it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Performance

Apart from potentially starting a fight with fans, the manager also raised eyebrows by omitting Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. But the decision was justified by Rogers impressing again in the No 10 position and getting his first international goal.

“He plays his game,” the head coach explained. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is vying for his position.”

Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Loss

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that Wales, who face a strong Belgian side in a key qualifying match on next week, improve after their awful performance in the opening period.

“This is why I scheduled this match,” Bellamy stated. “I need to see where we are. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? Today gives me motivation.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was taken off at the break after clattering into a goalpost and may miss out when England face Latvia in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on next week.
